About Us

Our Mission, Vision and Goals

Cancer Active Recovery Support (C.A.R.S.) believes that everyone, no matter their personal circumstances should be given the opportunity to access free support to improve their wellbeing following a cancer diagnosis and achieve the best quality of life possible.

Our experiences since 2016 has shown that by bringing together people having travelled similar journeys, sharing their experiences and participating in rehabilitative physical activity - we can improve their health, confidence, self-esteem, physical being and spirit to build brighter futures.

We do this through providing our unique community-based, condition focussed programmes.  A stepping step provision supporting individuals at the critical juncture between clinical and community re-engagement. Our educational holistic approach means that, individuals are provided the opportunity to access physical exercise to support their condition needs, to develop and understand long term condition management and to build on a support network and friendships within their own community transforming their own lives, and lives of others they meet.

Mission

Through exercise activities, we inspire and empower, those receiving a cancer diagnosis and living with cancer to improve their wellbeing

Vision

That everyone – whatever their age, gender, health or finances – achieves a better quality of life

Goals

To continue to provide free, structured, physical rehabilitation programmes

To work in partnership with participants, adaptively, creatively and with empathy to meet their individual needs

To enable every participant to improve their confidence and wellbeing

To work collaboratively with other charities and relevant areas of research to continually improve
